Volcan Taumulco is a moderate to difficult day hike climbing from 3,000m at the trailhead to the peak at 4,220m (almost 14,000ft) the highest point in Central America. From the top of Tajumulco there are panoramic views of the western highland, the Pacific coast and Mexico.
We pick you up at your hotel or host family at 4:00am and drive 2 ½ hours to the trail head. From there it takes approximately 4 hours to climb to the top and 3 hours to descend.
